History of the Bible
The Bible is not really a single book but a compilation of numerous books and letters. Although there are more than 40 authors who contributed to the Bible, it is ultimately attributed to God as being the supreme author of the book. The book is divided into two parts; the Old Testament which records the history of the God’s people before the time of Christ and the New Testament which covers the birth of Jesus Christ onwards. It starts with the book of Genesis explaining how God created the universe and ends with the book of Revelation which is considered visions of what is to happen in the future up until the end of days.
The history of the Bible is said to have started way back 2000 B.C. when Creation happened. During that time, there wasn’t any paper to write onto so people had to rely on word of mouth to pass along the historical facts. This might have proven to be a daunting task trying to preserve history by merely passing it through words and remembering the facts. As people progressed, so did the way of recording history. Now, we have the Bible compiled in a single book that is available in almost every language. In addition to that, there are a lot of translations we can choose from today so you can simply choose a version that you are likely to understand more easily.
If we went into details on the history of the Bible, we won’t be able to fathom how the books were preserved. Countless people made efforts and sacrifices just to make sure that we are able to read and enjoy His word today and also for future generations. The mere fact that we can get a copy of this today is in itself a miracle.
